Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Planets, an experience routing and receipt-verified local decision service for the United States operated by Stardusting, Inc.
Effective date: May 27, 2026
1. Scope and Acceptance
Planets is an experience routing and receipt-verified local decision service for the United States. It helps users discover places, plan social outings, route experiences, roadtrip stops, errands, date routes, and contribute receipt-verified visit information. These Terms apply to the Planets website, related applications, and associated services operated by Stardusting, Inc.
The current MVP is designed as a decision layer before navigation. Planets can create a route brief, candidate markers, source notes, and a Google Maps handoff, but it does not replace turn-by-turn navigation, emergency routing, or professional travel judgment.
By accessing or using Planets, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect legal, product, or operational changes, and updated Terms become effective when posted unless a later date is stated.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You may need an account to submit reviews, upload receipts, save routes, access the receipt daybook, or use paid AI features. Planets uses Firebase Authentication, including Google sign-in and email/password sign-in where enabled.
You must provide accurate account information, keep your login credentials secure, and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Planets. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the service only with any consent required by applicable law.
3. User Content and Reviews
You may submit reviews, ratings, one-line notes, emoji reactions, dish recommendations, public visit notes, private receipt daybook entries, and other content to Planets. You retain ownership of your content, but you grant Stardusting, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate, improve, and promote Planets.
Public reviews may be shown with the display identity you choose, such as a nickname or real name if that option is available. Private daybook entries and private receipt memory are not public reviews unless you choose to publish them.
You are responsible for the content you submit and must have the rights necessary to submit it. Reviews must reflect your genuine experience and must not be false, misleading, defamatory, unlawful, or infringing.
For places that commonly do not generate receipts, such as parks, public viewpoints, trails, or public attractions, Planets may support a lower-strength visit signal such as a voluntary check-in, user note, photo-derived context, or route completion signal. These signals are not treated as equivalent to receipt verification.
If you believe content on Planets infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA notice to contact@stardusting.net with sufficient information for us to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, and a good-faith statement. We may remove or disable access to challenged content while we review the complaint.
4. Receipt Verification
To verify certain reviews, visits, prices, or experience outcomes, you may upload a receipt photo. Receipt images are processed using OCR and related verification tools to extract merchant, place, purchase, price, category, and verification details and support fraud review.
Original receipt photos and raw OCR text are operational inputs, not long-term product data. We use them to verify and extract structured facts, then delete or de-identify them according to our retention practices. Planets may display a processed public-facing Verified Receipt Card or other verification indicator derived from receipt data, but not the original receipt image itself.
Receipt uploads must be truthful and related to your own transaction. Fabricated, altered, stolen, or unrelated receipts are prohibited.
By uploading a receipt, you grant Stardusting, Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to extract, store, and use structured or de-identified data from that receipt, such as merchant name, place match, purchase date bucket, total amount bucket, item categories, purpose tags, verification status, fraud signals, and social outcome signals, for service operation, recommendation improvement, price verification, anonymized benchmarking, and aggregated insights. Payment card numbers, cardholder names, approval codes, membership numbers, QR or barcode contents, delivery addresses, and other unnecessary personal or payment details may be masked, discarded, or excluded from long-term storage.
Receipt verification is a trust signal, not a guarantee that a place, price, menu, route, or review will remain accurate. Businesses may change prices, hours, menus, access rules, parking, and availability after a receipt is submitted.
5. Location, Maps, Public Data, and Experience Routing
Planets uses Google Maps and related Google services to power map features, geolocation, places, routing, traffic, weather, and handoff links. Your use of those features is also subject to the applicable Google Maps or Google Earth terms and policies.
Planets may use U.S. government and public data sources, including weather alerts, natural hazard data, crime baseline data, park or recreation data, transportation data, air quality data, Data.gov catalog metadata, and similar public datasets. These sources are used as context only and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.
Planets may estimate route stress, crowd pressure, visit timing, parking friction, weather impact, air quality context, and comfort-aware routing from available data. These are estimates and source-backed explanations, not exact headcounts, live visitor counts, or safety guarantees.
Experience routing, safety, comfort, crowd, social, and roadtrip outputs are recommendations and decision-support information only. Planets does not guarantee safety, availability, legality, accessibility, traffic conditions, crowd levels, air quality, venue quality, relationship outcomes, or that a route or place will be suitable for every user.
Map imagery, map data, public source data, and place information may contain Google, government, or other third-party notices that must not be removed, obscured, or altered.
6. AI, Mood, Reports, and Data Hub
Planets may use AI, deterministic scoring, and a secure data hub to classify intent, mood, route type, budget, time constraints, safety or comfort context, public source rows, receipt facts, and candidate quality.
Route Builder inputs may include route type, mood, budget, time window, parking sensitivity, noise tolerance, group type, stop cadence, natural-language details, location area, visible candidates, and source availability. Planets combines those inputs into the route brief and map preview.
The secure data hub is designed to receive external and internal data before it reaches the map or AI surfaces, record provenance, apply retention and sensitivity rules, and avoid storing raw prompts, exact current location, raw route traces, raw receipt images, or raw OCR text as long-term learning data.
Free features may use code-based scoring, visible map candidates, selected settings, and receipt metadata. Paid features may use deeper AI interpretation, more source review, daily notes, weekly reports, monthly reports, source-backed explanations, and more complex route tradeoffs.
AI outputs may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for using judgment before visiting a place, driving, walking, meeting someone, relying on public context, or making purchases.
7. Payments
Planets may offer optional subscriptions processed through Stripe. Current public positioning may include a free plan, Planets+, and Planets++. Free access is intended to keep core map, receipt daybook, and code-based route preview features available. Paid plans may unlock higher usage limits, AI interpretation, deeper source review, daily, weekly, or monthly reports, exports, and advanced route planning.
Stripe processes payment details, receipts, subscription billing, cancellations, refunds, and related billing operations under its own terms and privacy practices.
Paid placement does not control Planets recommendation ranking. Planets recommendations should be based on context, user settings, visible candidates, receipt verification, route fit, and applicable source signals rather than paid rank manipulation.
8. Security, Scraping, and Bot Protection
Planets may use CDN, web application firewall, rate limits, reCAPTCHA or similar protections, logging, bot detection, and abuse-prevention controls to protect accounts, APIs, receipts, maps, and public pages.
We may block, challenge, throttle, or restrict traffic that appears automated, abusive, deceptive, harmful, or inconsistent with these Terms. These controls may include protections against scraping, credential stuffing, spam, fake receipt submission, fake reviews, and unauthorized data extraction.
9. Prohibited Conduct
- Posting fake, manipulated, incentivized, or otherwise misleading reviews or ratings.
- Uploading fabricated, altered, or stolen receipts, or using receipts that do not match the submitted review.
- Using bots, scraping tools, bulk extraction methods, or other unauthorized automated means to access the service or its data.
- Committing spam, fraud, impersonation, account abuse, security abuse, or attempts to disrupt the service.
- Violating applicable law, third-party rights, Google Maps terms, or restaurant intellectual property and publicity rights.
10. Emergency, Safety, and Professional Advice Limits
Planets is not an emergency service, dispatch service, public safety authority, medical service, legal service, financial adviser, travel insurer, or professional security adviser.
Crime, incident, weather, air quality, traffic, crowd, comfort, parking, and safety-related outputs are contextual decision-support signals only. They are not guarantees that a place, road, walking path, venue, parking area, date, meetup, or trip is safe or suitable.
If you face an emergency or imminent risk, contact emergency services or the appropriate public authority instead of relying on Planets.
11. Termination and Liability
We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, refuse receipt verification, or restrict access if we believe a user has violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, or misused the service.
Planets is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy, or that all listings, prices, reviews, or verification results will always be error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stardusting, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Planets. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. DMCA Policy
If you are a copyright owner or authorized agent and believe material on Planets infringes your rights, send a written notice to contact@stardusting.net with: your name and contact information, identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the allegedly infringing material, a good-faith statement, and a statement made under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act.
We may remove or disable access to the material identified in a notice and may contact the reporting party or the affected user for additional information. Users who repeatedly infringe copyrights may have their accounts terminated.
